Hungarian star of the Junior ECh
19-year-old
Tamás Lőrincz, European champion among seniors in 66
kg at the recent European Champs in Moscow is expected to be the Hungarian star of the forthcoming Junior
ECh.
Top leader of the
Hungarian wrestling sport, Dr. Csaba Hegedüs praised the performance of the young wrestler. „Basically we were hesitating
a bit over Tamás’ participation at the senior event because for him the Championships in Szombethely is the number one
tournament this year. Though he’s been producing marvellous results since the beginning of the year including the win
over WCh bronze medalist Levente Füredy we did not want to overload him
with
competitions. The goal was to give him the possibility to feel the atmosphere of such a prestigious event, take a look round
the seniors. No doubt he enormously topped our expectations”. Dr. Hegedüs also pointed out that Lőrincz is the
Mr. Tus. Wrestling School’s disciple founded some years ago. „It is my great pleasure that after just four and
a half years this school already produced a senior European champion but soon the others will also come….”
